Out in the inky darkness the eerie wailing of coyotes drifted in on a hot black rattlesnake wind.
Cold, ancient moonlight poured down in blue shimmers like water to splash upon rocks so polished by vast eons of winds and time that they seemed as mirrors in the desert night.
The wanderer continued on to the edges of a border town. The sounds of laughter, conversation and music spilled out into the night already chiming with a symphony of desert sounds.
